What is a heat pump cylinder?
Heat pump cylinders store water after heating and keeps it at the perfect temperature for use. This means there's always water delivered at the perfect temperature, removing the need to constantly run your heating system for hot water. These Telford Heat Pump Cylinders are designed for use with an air or ground source heat pump as the main heat source.
What is a indirect unvented cylinder?
Indirect cylinders feature a heat exchanger, which transfers heat from a boiler or another heat source to the water in the cylinder. For instance, the Telford Tempest Indirect Unvented Heat Pump Cylinder features a purpose-designed coil with a 3m² surface area to allow maximum heat transfer of renewable energy into the stored water. Unvented cylinders are fully sealed and take water directly from the mains supply, meaning you don't need a cold water tank.
3kW immersion heater
The Telford Tempest Indirect Unvented Heat Pump Cylinder 500L is fitted with a 3kW immersion heater as a back-up heating method. This ensures that you always have hot water on demand.
Made from Duplex 316L stainless steel
Duplex stainless steel has innumerable benefits, including: greater strength at a lower weight; increased corrosion resistance; resistance to stress cracking. These are important for durability, and ensure that your brand new cylinder lasts.
Fully insulated
The Telford Tempest Indirect Unvented Heat Pump Cylinder is fully insulated, resulting in better efficiency as it prevents heat from escaping the cylinder.
ERP C rating
The Telford Tempest Indirect Unvented Heat Pump Cylinder has an ERP C rating, which is compliant with the current European Energy-related Products Directive standards.

1 Product Question Ask a question +
Can i install an electric system boiler to this cylinder to achieve quicker heat transfer. I know in theory it should be fine. Would it invalidate the warranty?
Telford have advised that this can be used with a boiler however it is not advisable as it will cause there to be a larger amount of condensation within the boiler and could damage your boilers heat exchanger.
